Riverton first responders were recognized for their dedication and service during a special luncheon held Friday afternoon. The event, organized by Explore Riverton, Central Riverton Partners, and the Riverton Development Authority, aimed to thank police, fire, and emergency personnel for their continuous efforts in keeping the city safe.
John Matthews, President and CEO of Explore Riverton, emphasized the invaluable role first responders play not only for residents, but also for those visiting the city.
“We are truly grateful to our first responders. The work they do often goes unseen, but it is essential to the safety of our neighborhoods, our business community, and everyone who visits Riverton,” Matthews said. “They are the backbone of our city’s sense of security.”
Matthews noted that events like the appreciation luncheon do more than show gratitude—they also foster stronger connections among community organizations and local agencies.
“Bringing everyone together is about more than just recognition,” Matthews said. “It’s about building trust and collaboration with the leaders of our emergency services. When our relationships are strong, we can work more efficiently and effectively toward our shared goals.”
He added that the luncheon was a simple, meaningful way to ensure first responders know their commitment is valued and not overlooked.
