The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department has announced the arrest of two individuals as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale of alcohol to underage buyers. The operation, which involved nearly a month of undercover investigations, revealed that minors were able to purchase alcohol from six different stores within the county.

According to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Department on Monday, undercover buyers were dispatched to all stores in Carroll County that sell alcohol. Minors successfully purchased alcohol at the following locations: Shell Convenience Store in North Carrollton, 4K Convenience Store in North Carrollton, MidWay Convenience Store in Duck Hill, 17/82 Convenience Store in Carrollton, Family Dollar in Vaiden, and Dollar General in Vaiden.

Arrests have been made in connection with these sales. Abdulkareem Mothana-Ali Alfarzai, 54, the owner of Shell Store in North Carrollton, and Akram Ali Saleh Alrabahi, 24, the manager of 4K Convenience Store in North Carrollton, were taken into custody. Both individuals were booked into the Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility and charged with misdemeanor sale of alcoholic beverages to minors. They have since been released on bond.

Sheriff Clint Walker emphasized the department’s strict policy against the provision of alcohol to minors. “This includes not only stores that sell to minors but also underage parties where adults furnish alcohol or allow its consumption on their property,” Walker stated. He noted that Independence Day is often regarded as a particularly dangerous time for alcohol-related incidents. The sheriff credited the dedication of his deputies in reducing the risk posed to young people and others on the road this year.

Walker also issued a warning that law enforcement presence will be heightened during the holiday week, and he cautioned store clerks, managers, and owners that undercover operations will continue.
