Firefighters in Pearl Mississippi Win Hearts with Impromptu Game and Firetruck Tour

In Pearl, Mississippi, a heartwarming encounter between local firefighters and neighborhood children has captured the community’s attention. A mother, who shared her experience on TikTok under the username @prettyashleyxoxo, recounted how members of the Pearl Fire Department took a break from their duties to engage with her children in an unexpected way.

According to her post, the children were playing football outside when a passing fire truck caught their attention. To their delight, the truck turned around and returned, with Captain Billy Stegall, Lieutenant Tyler Monts, Firefighter Tyler Stanford, and Firefighter Tristen Merritt stepping out to join the game. After an exciting session of football, the firefighters invited the kids to explore the fire truck, allowing them to sound the sirens and horn, and even try on a firefighter’s helmet.

The mother expressed her gratitude, saying, “Today was just such a beautiful day. Shoutout to the Pearl Fire Department in Pearl, Mississippi. You guys are amazing, you build relationships with the community and we love it.”

The Pearl Fire Department shared the video on their Facebook page, commenting, “This will make your heart smile! We love our city and the citizens we serve!”

Fire Chief Todd Burkes praised his team, stating, “Moments like these show the type of fire department we are. The mission is to serve our community in whatever capacity we find. This day was a great day. Not only was it great for the boys in the video, it also renews our ‘Why’ we do the job. I am grateful to work with such a great team that truly loves the job and the community.”
