A comprehensive narcotics investigation spanning multiple jurisdictions has resulted in eight arrests and the confiscation of illegal drugs in Kemper and Neshoba Counties. The Kemper County Sheriff’s Office announced the successful operation, which was conducted in cooperation with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN), Philadelphia Police Department, and the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation, focused on dismantling the illegal distribution of controlled substances, culminated in the execution of search warrants on June 6, 2025, at two residences in Kemper County. This action supported charges filed in Neshoba County against Alton Gordon and Charles Bolden, both facing two counts of Trafficking of Controlled Substance (Cocaine).
Further developments unfolded on June 18, 2025, when the Kemper County Sheriff’s Office, alongside MBN agents and Conservation Officers from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP), conducted a coordinated arrest operation in Kemper County. Authorities seized approximately 107 grams of methamphetamine and a small quantity of crack cocaine during the operation.
Six individuals were apprehended and charged as follows:
- Michael A. Scott, 45, charged with Sale of Methamphetamine, with a bond set at $25,000.
- Louis S. Baskin, 49, charged with two counts of Sale of Methamphetamine, with each bond set at $25,000.
- Ken A. Coleman, 55, charged with Sale of Methamphetamine (Bond: $25,000), Trafficking of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) (Bond: $50,000), and Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine (Bond: $25,000).
- Carlos L. Coleman, 37, charged with Sale of Crack Cocaine, with a bond of $25,000.
- Jimmy D. Cole, 36, charged with three counts of Sale of Methamphetamine, each carrying a bond of $25,000.
- Artina L. Masby, 63, charged with three counts of Sale of Methamphetamine, each with a bond of $25,000.
