The U.S. Army, founded in 1775, will commemorate its 250th anniversary with a series of events in the National Capitol Region. The celebrations will include a Wreath Laying Ceremony at Arlington Cemetery, a Birthday Festival at the National Mall, an Army Band concert, a parade, and various other activities and ceremonies. These events aim to honor the Army’s long-standing history of service and dedication.

Mississippi National Guard members will be tasked with supporting security operations near the U.S. Capitol Building. Their mission is to assist local and federal agencies in enhancing public safety and protecting life and property during the festivities.

Since its inception by the Continental Congress, the U.S. Army has played a pivotal role in defending the nation, both domestically and internationally. Army personnel, their families, and civilian staff have continuously demonstrated loyalty and commitment to the nation, the U.S. Constitution, and their respective units.

The Mississippi National Guard extends gratitude to the community for its ongoing support of its service members and their families.
