St. Dominic Health has reported a violent incident at its Jackson campus parking structure, resulting in the injury of a hospital staff member. According to Jeremy Tinnerello, president of St. Dominic Health and the Jackson market, the attack, which occurred this morning, appears to be an isolated and targeted event. “St. Dominic Hospital, a cornerstone of healing for our community, was marred by this tragic act of violence,” stated Tinnerello. “Evidence suggests this was a targeted attack; the suspect is now in custody, and our facility is secure.”

Tinnerello commended the swift actions of the on-site security team, whose prompt response helped prevent further injuries. The hospital is working in close coordination with law enforcement to maintain the safety of its patients, staff, and visitors. “Our deep appreciation goes to our security team and first responders for their quick action in containing the situation,” Tinnerello said.

The identity of the injured staff member has not been disclosed. St. Dominic Health is requesting privacy and prayers for the victim and the hospital community during this challenging time.
