A former office complex in Eastbrook is set to become a collection of luxury loft apartments, as construction crews begin work on converting two office buildings at 7850 Willowbend Drive into 15 upscale one- and two-bedroom units.
The project, led by UrbanPoint Development, is scheduled for completion by spring 2026. Pre-leasing is expected to start ahead of the opening, according to UrbanPoint president Mark Ellis.
“We’re seeing sustained demand for premium residential spaces in Eastbrook and the surrounding areas,” Ellis said. “Recent developments like Parkside Lofts and The Atrium, which we also completed, filled up quickly. Our experience with the Crossings at Midtown also showed strong leasing activity.”
Designs for the new apartments were created by architects Laura Jensen and David Cole of Cole Jensen Studio, who have collaborated with UrbanPoint on several adaptive reuse projects. “Their expertise in reimagining existing spaces has been invaluable,” Ellis noted. “They’ve helped us set the standard for high-end living in the district.”
Construction is being managed by Sterling Builders of Shreveport, with whom UrbanPoint recently partnered for renovations at another nearby community. “Sterling Builders has demonstrated excellent craftsmanship and reliability,” Ellis said.
Though the development is relatively small, residents will enjoy full access to the amenities at Parkside Lofts across the street, including a pool, outdoor lounge, fitness center, and pickleball court. Tenants will also be eligible for benefits through UrbanPoint’s Resident Perks program, which partners with businesses in the Parkside district and throughout Eastbrook.
The new apartments are expected to match the quality and size of those at Parkside Lofts, where one-bedroom units range from 520 to 730 square feet and two-bedroom options span from 980 to nearly 1,250 square feet.
With the property’s close proximity to major hospitals and downtown Eastbrook, Ellis believes the apartments will appeal to medical and graduate students, health professionals, as well as young professionals, retirees, and mid-career residents. “We’ve seen broad interest from a diverse group of potential tenants,” he said. “Our goal is to offer a convenient, high-quality living option for the entire community.”
