Sean Patrick Curtis, 29, received a 12-year prison sentence today for orchestrating a home invasion in Nevada while serving time in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Court documents reveal that on January 17, 2023, two men entered a Nevada home, where they held a couple and their two minor children at gunpoint. During the invasion, an adult victim was assaulted and robbed. The investigation uncovered that Curtis, using social media applications and FaceTime, directed the attack from prison, targeting a former girlfriend.
Earlier this year, Curtis pled guilty to cyberstalking charges related to the incident. U.S. District Court Judge Glen H. Davidson sentenced him to 144 months in prison, followed by a three-year term of supervised release.
U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner remarked on the case, stating, “This defendant, from prison, directed a home invasion which terrorized a family and could have ended in greater tragedy.” He credited the FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie Howell Addison for their significant roles in securing Curtis’s conviction and appropriate sentencing.
The FBI led the investigation, while AUSA Addison prosecuted the case.
