The annual Magnolia Makers arts and crafts festival, hosted by Pine Grove Trading Co., brought together artisans from across the state for a day of creativity and community. Approximately 60 vendors assembled on March 21, transforming downtown Ridgefield into a vibrant showcase for both local residents and visiting tourists.
“It’s just so peaceful here. My husband is passionate about art, and when I found out that the makers from the regional show would be in Ridgefield, I thought it was the perfect chance to visit my parents, who live nearby,” said Lisa Michaels, who traveled from Dallas, Texas. “I mentioned it to my son and his fiancée, and they were excited to join us for the day.”
In addition to an array of handmade arts and crafts, festivalgoers enjoyed a variety of food vendors offering treats that delighted every palate.
“We started our farm a couple of years ago by selling produce at neighborhood markets, like greens, corn, and peas. Eventually, we expanded into creating specialty products,” explained Matt Carter, co-owner of Sun Valley Farms.
Organizers from Pine Grove Trading Co. expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic turnout. “We really appreciate the community’s support today. The weather was beautiful, and we had a steady flow of visitors,” said store manager Rachel Simmons. “It was wonderful to welcome so many new faces to our shops throughout the week.”
