The Brick Lane Beats Music and Arts Festival concluded its ninth annual celebration this weekend, drawing crowds with live performances, art displays, and family-friendly activities in Maple Grove.
The historic district of Downtown Maple Grove resonated with music as local bands, visual artists, and community members gathered on Sunday for the festival’s grand finale.
Throughout the weekend, attendees enjoyed a diverse lineup of musicians, a 5K race, a crawfish boil, and a homebrew competition featuring samples of nearly 20 craft beers. Visual art took center stage with a plein air painting event and art installations transforming city sidewalks and parks into open-air galleries.
According to Main Street Maple Grove Assistant Director Jordan Lee, the event is designed to encourage residents and visitors to discover new corners of the city.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to get people involved and introduce them to parts of the community they may not have seen before,” Lee said.
Lee noted that the festival provides an economic boost for local businesses as well.
“We have so many shops and restaurants that people might not be aware of,” Lee said. “This event draws them in, and while they’re here, they might discover a new café or shop to visit throughout the year, not just during the festival.”
Festival attendee Morgan Carter echoed the sentiment, highlighting the festival’s positive impact on small businesses.
“It’s really about exposure and bringing revenue to local businesses,” Carter said. “Keeping small businesses thriving is so important.”
Organizers expressed hope that the festivities would encourage both residents and visitors to return to Maple Grove and experience all the city has to offer.
